Contribution to PLANtAR:
As a world leader in semiconductor solutions Infineon Technolgies AG develops a highly integrated ASIC with programmable sensor interface to integrate the newly developed biodegradable sensor concepts. Furthermore, a novel biocompatible sensor concept is developed for leaf wetness monitoring. The existing sensor concepts, like CO2 sensor, are optimized for agricultural use cases with focus on green technologies. In cooperation with Fraunhofer ENAS we develop the biodegradable soil moisture sensor. By enabling a cheap and greener sensing, the usage of pesticides and fertilizers can be significantly reduced. Infineon Technologies AG leads work package 5 “Sensor and System Integration” and work package 8 “Project Lead”.
